The Art of Scribing,
Cutting, and Fitting

Custom mirror work is one of the most technically demanding aspects of the glass trade — particularly when it involves scribing a mirror precisely to an irregular surface, matching an existing frame, or cutting to fit around architectural details that won’t forgive a millimeter of error. This is where 45 years of experience and a seasoned craftsman’s hands make all the difference.

Safety Mirror Ceiling with Custom Standoff Hardware

Large-format laminated safety mirror panels mounted to the ceiling of the Baldwin Estate living room — one of the most technically demanding mirror installations in our history. The photographs below show both the finished installation and the precision hardware that makes it possible.

Custom Chrome Standoff Buttons

These precision-engineered standoff mounts securely hold the safety mirror panels to the ceiling, as shown here in close-up.

Why this matters: Ceiling mirror installations require laminated safety mirror — glass that is tempered and bonded so it cannot shatter into dangerous shards if broken. The standoff hardware must be engineered to permanently and securely support significant overhead weight. Very few glass companies in Southern California have designed, fabricated, and installed ceiling mirrorwork at this scale and level of quality. We have.

—Our Craftsmen’s Edge

Scribing to Any Shape.
Fitting to Any Space.

Many glass companies can cut a rectangular mirror. Fewer can scribe a mirror precisely to a wavy plaster wall, fit a mirrored panel flush to a curved staircase, or match the beveled edge of an existing antique installation. This is the kind of detail work that our craftsmen have been doing — quietly, precisely — for four decades in South Orange County’s finest homes.
